Injured Marine Justin Reynolds is surrounded in prayer Wednesday by (from left) his mother, Anne Reynolds; Assistant Chaplin Terry Ginther, of Leipsic, Ohio; and Justin’s sister, Kim Reynolds; at The Ridge at Shawnee in Lima, Ohio. “Prayer is the only thing we’ve got,” Ginther said . Reynolds, who served two tours of duty in the Iraq war was honorably discharged after a Humvee he was riding in hit a roadside bomb, filling his legs with shrapnel in 2006. Doctors think a virus contracted after his injuries infected Justin's brain, leaving him disabled but aware. The Department of Veterans Affairs certified The Ridge as a veterans nursing facility. A group from the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center presented him with $3,707 to help with his care. The help from the VA and the gift from Joint Systems Manufacturing Center will help offset Justin's healthcare costs.
